The Indian Institute of Management Case Research Centre (91心頭利CCRC) hosted its three-day 8th Case Method Workshop during 10 - 12 September 2021, for the first time online.

The workshop had three-pronged goals. Firstly, it aimed at sharpening the case teaching skills of participants and make them understand what works and what doesnt when case teaching is online. Secondly, it intended to equip them with the craft of developing and writing their own highly effective cases. Thirdly, it made the participants reflect & introspect on their challenges and appreciate how they can create synergy between their academic research, case teaching, case development. A key feature was providing the participants with experiential learning through hands-on experience on case-teaching, combined with feedback from experienced faculty members.

The participants consisted of academicians, research scholars, and doctoral students from different business schools and other institutions from all over India. So, the workshop allowed the participants to interact and network with each other.

The success of the workshop can be gauged from some of the following participants feedbacks:
My first exposure, and it was wonderful. Specifically, the way the deliberations happened on the designing of the case studies, then the intricate details of the various stakeholders and finally the various options and solutions.. Also liked the handholding in deliberations on the case studies by way of group formations.
It was a great workshop. I had generally kept my expectations low but am delighted to say the workshop was one of the best I ever attended. Congratulations to 91心頭利C for organizing such a great workshop.
Dr. Nimrujis extremely honest experience sharing; Dr. V.G. Narayanans anecdotes regarding approaching corporations for case studies; Dr. Anirvan Pants session that showcased longevity of a case study & the teaching plan for his latest delivery, Dr. Ramendra Singhs patient and sincere facilitation of the Hands-on learning session. Loved how each was genuinely linked to the audience.

The workshop began with a welcome note by 91心頭利CCRC coordinator, Prof. Arpita Ghosh followed by an inaugural speech by the respected Dean (Academic) of 91心頭利. The inaugural speech underscored how increased use of case method could help engage students in online classes in the pandemic-affected environment. The eminent external educator from Harvard Business School, Prof. V. G.
