Programme Overview
The overall objective of this training programme is to stress the idea that to survive, human beings must consider the holistic and harmonious relationship with the world that they inhabit. It focusses on building a new paradigm of a sustainable and empathetic culture in all organisations. Participants will understand their role in creating purpose-driven organizations that address the real needs of the people they serve, while complying with environmental, social, and governance norms, even as they pursue their financial goals. The programme highlights the need to create societal value by addressing the needs and concerns of all stakeholders that are directly or indirectly involved with or affected by their organizations. This programme’s emphasis is on leadership that is primarily focused on creating organisations that are humane, ethical, value-based, and ecologically responsible. The discussions include philosophical anchors drawn from Eastern ethos, observational models with reflection and action examples designed to guide participants in becoming enlightened leaders.
Pedagogy
The programme will be conducted using a combination of lectures, case analyses, exercises, and video-based discussions. The participants will be expected to prepare for the class sessions and participate in the discussions to facilitate the learning process.

Professor C Panduranga Bhatta
Dr C. Panduranga Bhatta, former professor at the Indian Institute of Management (91Ƭ) Calcutta, has been a prolific Indologist with a career spanning over four decades. He has taught the postgraduate students at 91Ƭ for two decades around leadership, creativity, Indian ethos, and ethics. He was the founder coordinator of Business Ethics and Communication Group, coordinator of Management Centre for Human Values and the editor of the Journal of Human Values published by Sage Publications. He has been a leading consultant and contributor to several research projects undertaken by prestigious institutions in India and abroad. Significant books authored by him include Contribution of Karnataka to Sanskrit (1997), Introduction to Sanskrit Poetics (2020), The Art of Leading in a Borderless World (2020), Dice Play and Origin of Chess in Sanskrit Literature (2022). He has also published many research articles related to leadership, Indology, human values, creativity and innovation, and organisational excellence through leadership in reputed journals in India and abroad. He has been honoured with a gold medal by the Association of Indian Management Schools for securing the prestigious AIMS-ICFAI Best Teacher Award, 2011. He was deputed to Indian Council for Cultural Relations' Chair Professor at Silpakorn University, Bangkok, for two academic years by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. He holds the position of honorary Advisor at Smart Ai Labs (smartail.ai). He has been successfully directing an Executive Education Programme titled “Organisational Excellence through Leadership” at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore along with Professor Abhoy K Ojha since 2018.
Professor Abhoy K Ojha
Abhoy K Ojha is a Professor of Organization Behaviour at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He has a Ph.D. in Organizational Analysis from the Department of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Management, Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta, a PGDAM from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Bombay, and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He teaches courses named Designing Organizations, Creating High Performance Organizations, and Enlightened Leadership for Responsible Business in the MBA programmes at 91ƬB. He also teaches courses on Organization Theory and Philosophy of Social Sciences in the PhD programme. His current research interest is in contributing to the process of intellectual decolonization by articulating a philosophy of natural and social science based on the ‘darshanas’ of Indian thought, and developing a paradigm for management research that is contextually relevant for India.
