Programme Overview

Sustainability and sustainable development has become a priority for corporate organizations, not only as a means for articulating their responsibilities in mitigating environmental harms and reducing global inequality, but in order to address the legitimate concerns of multiple stakeholders, including regulators and the society at large. Rising challenges like climate change and corresponding environmental regulations create further incentives to re-orient corporate institutions, pushing them to become more agile and better attuned toward environmental concerns. At the same time, the ideals of Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity (DEI) are increasingly recognized as a mainstay of global business policy and practice, contributing to the sustainable growth of organisations. The need for transparency in decision making and better governance has become more pronounced. Meanwhile, technological advances, including ML, Cloud Computing and AI, offer new hope for allaying ecological disaster at a planetary level. The challenge lies in embedding technological affordances within the broader strategic vision to drive organisational transformation towards sustainability while addressing the demands of business profitability.

The Executive Programme in Corporate Sustainability (EPCS) would attempt to address these complex issues by equipping participants with the necessary skill sets and knowledge about global best-practices to influence their strategic vision so that they can transform their organizations into effective and ethical enablers of sustainability. By offering an effective range of heuristic management techniques, holistic corporate insights and experiential learning the programme would help participants become impactful leaders of organizational change aligned with the goals of corporate sustainability. The aim of the programme is to explain the intricacies of corporate sustainability both at a granular and a broad-canvas level within corporate structures. It will provide participants with mechanisms to introduce sustainability as a core principle of everyday business activities, decision-making, strategic vision and long-term growth. In addition, the programme would help participants understand corporate sustainability not only from a regulatory compliance perspective but also re-imagine how its linkage to Environmental, Ethical, Social and Governance (EESG) paradigms can create long-term brand visibility, uphold stake-holder interests, improve profitability and strengthen customer loyalty for the corporate entity.
