4. Job Responsibilities:

  1. Be overall responsible for all functions of Computer Centre related to Software, Hardware, Cyber Security, etc.
  2. Look after IT Governance, IT Program/Portfolio Management and IT Infrastructure Management
  3. Be abreast of the way technology is being used in the educational institute space and evaluate the applicability in the 91心頭利C context.
  4. Engage with the entire cross-section of users and stakeholders to identify problems, requirements, wish-lists, needs, metrics to design, execute and monitor the digital transformation program.
  5. Provide digital backbone for delivery of content and services- on campus and remotely.
  6. Streamline, standardize and automate processes with the intent to eliminate waste, improve efficiency and develop insights.
  7. Take the Institute-wide view to identify opportunities, impacts, risks and interdependencies with other Institute-wide initiatives and conduct periodic reviews.
  8. Prepare and manage Annual Operation Plan for the functioning of Computer Centre.
  9. Exercise budgetary control and schedule adherence to both strategic and operational initiatives.
  10. Manage IT risk and ensure business continuity/ disaster recover readiness.
  11. Proactively communicate with stakeholders to keep them updated on planning, roadmap, execution status, launch, its impact, learnings, etc.
  12. Assess the organizations culture, capacity and readiness for change and guide institutional change as required for executing the digital strategy.
  13. Integrate change management activities into overall project plans and work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  14. Manage a team of officers, staff, consultants and third party personnel.
  15. Select and manage vendors in compliance with institutional policies and control mechanisms.
  16. Overall supervision of Computer Services Operations:
    1. Putting systems and procedure in place for smooth functioning of the Computer Services operations.
    2. Regular monitoring of Computer Services operations and acting on deficiencies, if any.
  17. Formulating Policies:
    1. Framing policies to provide secure access and prevent unauthorized access to applications.
    2. Formulating and constantly updating an overall information systems plan for 91心頭利C.
    3. Constantly assessing the application landscape commensurate with an international institute of repute.
    4. Framing policies with respect to privacy and security of institutional, academic, and organizational data and all digital assets.
    5. Preparing and implementing disaster recovery plans for all applications.
  18. Project Management:
    1. Forming project committees and organizing regular meetings of the project committees to coordinate with the stakeholders and vendors.
    2. Monitoring progress and keeping track of projects and the milestones achieved.
    3. Ensuring vendors to comply with all terms and conditions mentioned in the contract agreement.
    4. Ensuring smooth go-live and handover on completion, if development and implementation of projects are successful.
    5. Preparing reports on key IT assets, licenses, maintenance and costs.
  19. Management of IT Personnel:
    1. Participating in hiring of suitable people for software related tasks.
    2. Allocating tasks and responsibilities to different personnel.
    3. Mentoring and training support staff.
  20. Finance and Administrative Part:
    1. Coordinating with different user departments and computer services team to ensure budgetary allocation for various applications.
    2. Ensuring that base software and application software licensing laws and agreements are adhered to.
    3. Process ownership relating to procurement, PO issuance, renewal, billing, etc. relating to software and applications.
    4. To act as the central repository of all important documents relating to all application environments.
  21. Any other relevant jobs as assigned by the Competent Authority from time to time.

5. Academic Qualification:
Essential:

  1. B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Technology/Computer Science & Engineering/Information Technology/ECE with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University/Institute.
    OR
  2. M.C.A. or M.Sc. (Computer Science/IT) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University/Institute.

6. Experience:

  1. Minimum 15 (Fifteen) years relevant professional experience in reputed organizations in the field of IT out of which 05 (Five) years should be in the leadership position; visioning, designing, architecting, implementing and servicing information systems/ information technology platforms to achieve organizational strategy and execution excellence.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in digital transformation- strategy, roadmap and full lifecycle of execution- in India or abroad.
  2. Demonstrate both cultural compatibility and change agent capability to achieve short term and long term goals of the digital transformation program.
  3. Experience in managing campus site and providing campus wide connectivity.
  4. Experience in change management in various organizational contexts by working with sponsors, coaching key personnel, training users and managing resistance.
  5. Ability to run very large complex projects or a portfolio of small projects.
  6. Ability to implement best practices and continuous improvement in IT service management.
  7. Excellent communication, influencing skills, judgement, analytical skills, management skills such as project management, time management, supervision, negotiation and systems thinking.
  8. Sharp focus on automating repeatable tasks and reducing operational overheads.

8. Age: Preferably Up to 50 years as on last date of applications.

9. Emoluments:

A consolidated emolument of Rs.2.40 lakh per month (negotiable), based on the experience and job profile of the candidate. In case the incumbent is availing the Institutes accommodation, 15% of the consolidated emoluments will be deducted. In addition to the consolidated emoluments, the other benefits includes medical reimbursement, mediclaim insurance etc. as per the Institutes policy. The salary will be revised annually based on performance as per Institute policy. The salary will not be a constraint for deserving candidates.

10. Tenure:

This is a contractual position for a period of 03 (Three) years only. During the engagement, Candidate may opt out from service of the Institute or the Institute may terminate the engagement, by giving 30 (thirty) days written notice by either side.

General Information:
  1. Candidates on selection are required to submit relieving letter from their employer (Govt./Public Sector/Private) at the time of joining the Institute, without which they will not be allowed to join.
